A Warm Welcome to the Patients of  Dr. Don Brown and Streeterville Pediatrics

Dear Families,

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Dr. Don Brown will be joining our team here at the Northwestern Children’s Practice!

Dr. Brown has been a pillar of the Streeterville community for almost 40 years. While we understand that transitions can be a big step for families, we are honored that he has chosen us as his new professional home and has invited you to join him here. We look forward to meeting you and continuing the high level of care you’ve come to expect.

To help you feel at home, we’d like to share a little bit about who we are. Our practice was founded in 1974, and like Dr. Brown, we have deep roots in Chicago. Today, our team consists of 11 physicians and 4 nurse practitioners.

Many of our providers have been with us for decades, offering the kind of continuity and longevity that we know is important to your family’s peace of mind. Here are some things to know about us:

    •    We Are Parents Too! Every one of our providers is a parent. Our children range in age from infants under a year old to adults over 30. We don't just provide medical advice; we understand the world of parenting because we’re living it right alongside you.

    •    Parenting isn’t easy, and our motto is that we strive to help you make it more simple, practical, and fun.  

    •     We know that kids don’t always get sick on a schedule. To support your family, we offer extensive hours and walk-in availability. In addition to scheduled sick visits, we offer walk-in times when sick patients can be seen without an appointment:  Monday—Friday from 8am—11am and 2pm—3pm, and Saturday at 10am. Appointments for visits can also be scheduled by calling the office or through MyChart.

    •    Transitioning care to NWCP from Streeterville should be seamless. We use the same Electronic Medical Record system as Dr. Brown, so there is no need to request or transfer records. We are also on staff at Prentice Women’s Hospital and Lurie Children’s Hospital, just like Dr. Brown. 

As pediatricians we are all specialists in our favorite topics which include sleep, nutrition, behavior, development, and safety.  We will partner with your family to navigate these areas and establish healthy habits from birth through adolescence
